L’édition 2025 des Game Awards se démarque comme un moment clé pour l’industrie du jeu vidéo. Clair Obscur Expédition 33 obtient neuf prix dont Jeu de l’année. Le titre de Sandfall Interactive reçoit aussi la Meilleure Direction artistique, la Meilleure Performance, le Meilleur RPG, la Meilleure Narration et la Meilleure Bande-son. Ce résultat place le studio montpelliérain dans une position centrale et confirme une ascension rapide pour un premier jeu.
Les World Premieres structurent la soirée avec de nombreuses annonces fortes. Control Resonant présente un trailer dense en informations et confirme Dylan Faden comme personnage principale dans un Manhattan soumis à des forces cosmiques. Le cinéma rejoint la cérémonie avec la première bande-annonce du film Street Fighter qui mise sur une approche fidèle aux techniques de la série. First Light enrichit l’univers de 007 et dévoile Lenny Kravitz dans le rôle de Bawma. D’autres projets retiennent aussi l’attention comme Gang of Dragon de Nagoshi Studio, No Law de Neon Giant, Star Wars Galactic Racer ou Fate of the Old Republic.
Trois moments fixent cette édition dans la mémoire collective. Leon S. Kennedy apparaît dans Resident Evil Requiem et provoque une réaction immédiate de la salle. Les annonces Tomb Raider Catalyst et Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis tracent une nouvelle orientation pour l’avenir de Lara Croft. Le sacre de Clair Obscur Expédition 33 conclut la soirée et scelle la réputation de cette édition 2025 qui s’impose comme une référence pour les Game Awards.
